Dr. Gloria Godwin – The Fear Of The Lord
The Fear of the Lord
Text: Daniel 1:8
“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself…” — Daniel 1:8
Introduction
The fear of the Lord is a deep reverence for God that leads us to honor and obey Him. It is choosing God’s way over the world’s, even when it is difficult.
Daniel lived in a culture that encouraged compromise, yet he remained faithful because he had already purposed in his heart to please God above all else.
Lessons from Daniel
- Honor God in every decision.
- Stand firm in your convictions.
- Refuse to compromise your faith.
- Trust God to reward your obedience.
When we fear the Lord, He gives us wisdom, strength, and favor to fulfill His purpose for our lives.
Prayer
Father, help me to fear You above all else. Give me the courage to stand for what is right and to live a life that honors You in every decision. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
